As reported earlier, PNoy mentioned the term “wang-wang” multiple times on his SONA 2011, which he referred it to as graft and corruption, and other illegal activities of some government officials.
According to the bachelor president, his administration is working hard to stop “wang-wang” and presented some of the achievements of his administration.
The president received applause from the audience but the loudest was when he announced the appointment of former Supreme Court Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales as the new Ombudsman.
Meanwhile, PNoy thanked his cabinet members for all the support they have provided for the projects of the government agencies, as well as the Congress for approving the budget.
On the latter part, President Noynoy Aquino thanked Catholic Church for the continuous dialogue with the government to ease the tension between them, particularly Cardinals Rosales and Vidal.
However, the president reminded the Filipinos to thank to every simple service they will receive such from nurses and teachers who decided to stay here in the country instead of working abroad.
The full context of PNoy’s SONA 2011 speech was delivered in Filipino language but the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines provided an English translation, which was released later.
