On May 7, Manny Pacquiao will defend his WBO 147-pound title against “Sugar” Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas. According to international news sites, the weigh-in results were Pacquiao – 145 lbs, and Mosley -147 lbs. The weigh-in was broadcast live and watched by a large crowd.
The Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley bout has Pacquiao, the “Greatest Boxer of all Time,” also called Manny Pacman, a “huge favorite” of boxing fans. Mosley has a record of 46 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw against Pacquiao’s 52 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws, 38 of which are knockouts.
According to US news sites, Floyd Mayweather Jr. stated that “The Champion” is only fighting his “leftovers,” and that he hopes Mosley will win. With the successful weigh-in, Mayweather will have his wish be proven incorrect or correct eventually. The weigh in has concluded the training of the two boxers in preparation for their fight on Saturday.
The supporting bouts to be featured on May 7 are Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. vs. Jorge Arce, Kelly Pavlik vs. Alfonso Lopez, and Mike Alvarado vs. Ray Narh.
