Oregon Election Results 2010: Senator Ron Wyden Won Against Jim Huffman
By Marhgil Macuha on Nov 4, 2010 in International, Politics, United States, World • No comments
According to international news reports, Senator Ron Wyden will continue his term as a US Senator as he defeated Republican challenger Jim Huffman.
Ronald Lee “Ron” Wyden won a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 1980, and served there until 1996, when he became a U.S. Senator. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Wyden‘s win is not a surprise, based on the polls. However, he will find fewer Democrats in the Senate when he goes back to work in January.
Wyden might keep his seat on the Finance and Energy Committees. Wyden needs to work harder this time to seek out Republicans to work with him because of a smaller Democratic majority.
