Michael Jackson: Second Death Anniversary on June 25, Brother Jermaine Pays Tribute, Unique Accomplishments Remembered

The world remembers Michael Jackson’s second death anniversary on June 25 with his brother Jermaine Jackson, paying tribute during the 2011 International Indian Film Academy Celebrations (IIFA.) Michael’s unique accomplishments are also remembered by various entertainment sites, June 24, 2011.

According to reports, Jermaine Jackson, sang a Jackson medley at the Toronto 2011 IFFA celebrations, June 24. Jermaine talked about Michael Jackson’s legacy that of “bringing awareness to the “less fortunate in the world and the planet.”

Michael Jackson was born August 29, 1958 and died June 25, 2009 at the age of 50. He was named the “King of Pop” in the music industry, and had been recognized as such for decades now.

His unique  accomplishments were  numerous  which  included being the  first artist to receive 13  Grammy Awards,  Grammy Lifetime   Achievement  Award,   and  Grammy Legend  Award and  the male solo  artist  who have sold records more  than any other pop artist in the world.

Reportedly, he was cited by “The Guinness Book of World Records” 1n 2000 as “the most philanthropic pop star in history.”  Jackson visited orphanages and charitable institutions in between his concerts. He co-wrote “We Are the World,” with Lionel Richie, as a charity single in 1985.

Jackson’s “Earth Song” also is considered and environmental anthem that sold millions of records all over the world. Michael Jackson’s “Thriller ” is also the biggest selling album of all time.
