Meredith Baxter Claims David Birney Had Abused Her

Meredith Baxter the star of previous sitcoms in the 1970’s, 1980’s, “Bridget Loves Birney” and “Family Ties,” is now claiming that David Birney, his estranged husband, had allegedly struck her during the time they have been married. She also said revealed in her book, “Untied: A Memoir of Family, Fame and Floundering” that she was abused emotionally and physically. Entertainment news sites have disclosed this information, March 1, after Baxter was interviewed in NBC’s Today Show.
Meredith Baxter’s new book revealed how Birney allegedly took advantage of her being “mousy and retiring” so that he could dominate her. After their 15 years of marriage, Baxter came to realize that she was a lesbian and this led her to other relationships. Her “other” relationship is with a contractor, Nancy Locke.
David Birney was not available to personally react on TV to the revelation of Meredith Baxter, but according to reliable sources, he had previously denied the accusations.
