As noted at Oregon Live on Sunday, May 27, 2012, Isaac Lamb, an actor in Portland, who posted the video at Vimeo on Friday, May 25, proposed for marriage to his girlfriend Amy Frankel, with the video also uploaded at YouTube on the same day and has nearly 7.3 million views as of this writing.
According to the report, the said video, with more than 60 performers involved, went viral immediately that day and had nearly 1.4 million views, with Lamb saying that they have already received invitations from the “Today Show,” “Good Morning America” and Ellen DeGeneres‘ show.
“On Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012, I told my girlfriend to meet me at my parent’s house for dinner. When she arrived I had stationed my brother to sit her in the back of an open Honda CRV and give her some headphones. He “wanted to play her a song”…” A statement read on the video description.
“What she got instead was the world’s first Live Lip-Dub Proposal.” The statement added, with Isaac‘s brother telling to Amy, “This song really tends to exemplify you and Isaac‘s relationship – it really does to me. So, here it goes,” and the girl started to laugh.
As the car went into moving slowly, the couple’s friends started to appear and lip-synched to “Marry You” with Amy clapping but getting emotional as the routine goes on. Isaac appeared in the last part of the song and later knelt down in front of Amy, and in front of everyone, he asked her to marry him, which she readily agreed.
