American actress, Jennifer Aniston, purchased ‘’Stranger #44’’ for $450,000 to benefit Haiti’s health and education sectors. This was disclosed by several news sites September 25, 2011.
Aniston, together with her boyfriend, Justin Theroux, bought the said Glenn Ligon painting, ‘Stranger #44’ in an auction to raise funds for Haiti.
Reportedly, ‘ Stranger #44’ is an oil, graphite and charcoal abstract on canvas. Aside from Ligon, several artists joined hands for the ‘Stiller Foundation’s ‘’Artist for Haiti.”
Meanwhile, it was reported earlier that Brad Pitt’s unintentional mention of Jennifer Aniston in an interview, had been misinterpreted and allegedly, have not been well accepted. Aniston apparently had not been affected as she went out of her way to contribute to charitable causes like raising funds for Haiti.
One work of art had topped Aniston’s purchase, however, reports said; “My Mother before She Became My Mother” by Marlene Dumas was sold for $2 million.
Additional reports said that Ben Stiller and Zwirner were able to raise $13,662,000 for Haiti’s education and health sectors.
