The Harlem Shake Miami Heat video has gone viral, as shown in the video below, which was uploaded by the official Miami Heat YouTube account on Thursday, February 28, 2013. And as expected, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade led the Miami Heat on their own version of the latest dance craze, Harlem Shake.
James, who has a $1m offer from Magic Johnson if he joins the 2014 NBA All-Star dunk contest, danced along with his teammates, giving their best shot to the tune of Harlem Shake, a 2012 song by Baauer that became an Internet dance meme since early February this year.
Amusingly, the Harlem Shake Miami Heat video, which has more than 11,565,000 views as of this writing; and is still rapidly increasing, also include Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, Chris Andersen, Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem, James Jones, Norris Cole, Rashard Lewis, Jarvis Varnado, and Joel Anthony.
“With everything that goes on with our team from the outside, we have to figure out a way to keep ourselves sane and have fun.” LeBron James was quoted at MiamiHerald.com, referring to the Harlem Shake Miami Heat YouTube video. Miami Heat is now enjoying 13 consecutive winning games.
“It’s no disrespect to anyone we go against or the game itself. We approach the game like the best competitors, but in the meantime you have to appreciate more than just basketball.” James added, noting that outside-the-court activities such as this one are also important to create team chemistry.
“It’s a long season, man. For us, it was just trying to enjoy the process. It’s going to be go time soon, and then we’re not going to be able to do anything.” Dwyane Wade said; who was wearing the Saturday Night Fever teddy bear costume on the 1-minute Harlem Shake Miami Heat video.
With Lebron James winning the Eastern Conference Player of the Month, and Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra being named as Coach of the Month for February, the team has enough reasons to celebrate and have fun. Needless to say, they won against Memphis Grizzlies last Friday night, 98-91.
