Eric Clapton-Chris Evans Ferrari sold at Silverstone auction for £66,500

A yellow Ferrari previously owned by British rock guitarist Eric Clapton and later sold to radio presenter Chris Evans, as shown in the photo below, was sold in an auction in UK for £66,500 or nearly $110,000.

According to British news sites on Sunday, July 24, 2011, the 2003 Ferrari 575 Maranello of Clapton was bought by a private buyer, whose name was not revealed, in an auction in Silverstone.

“Famous name provenance is always a help,” Silverstone Auctions manager Guy Loveridge was quoted on reports, adding that he was not surprised that the rare care was sold for that huge amount.

As noted at Silverstone Auctions‘ official website, the rare Ferrari is being estimated to fetch between £58,000 and £66,000 but the actual sale went higher than expected.

Silverstone Auctions also noted that the celebrity car has covered 10,000 miles only from new with full Ferrari service history, which includes 7 main dealer stamps and 2 cambelt changes.

Apparently, the said car looks yellowish but it was said to be a unique color combination of Giallo Fly with Nero Daytona leather, which was specially ordered new by the “Tears in Heaven” singer.
