Ellen DeGeneres produced a comedy talk show with senior writer Lauren Pomerantz and sold it to NBC, according to a report by Deadline on Thursday, September 13, 2012. The untitled DeGeneres show was produced under A Very Good Production company.
Reports say that DeGeneres‘ new show “centers on a successful, proudly independent 32-year-old woman who is convinced she just doomed herself to die alone when she notices she’s listed as ‘a single woman’ on the paperwork for the house she’s about to close on.”
Last season, NBC reportedly bought “The Smart One,” another DeGeneres produced comedy but it ended up at ABC.
The single-camera comedy is the second show for A Very Good Production this season. The earlier production is with Fox.
