A Hermès Diamond Birkin purse with a diamond and white gold hardware was sold in an auction on December 6, 2011 for $203,150, international news sites reported that day.

According to reports, the $203,150 purse was sold at Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas to an anonymous collector. Apparently, the sale sets a new world record price for a handbag sold at a public auction.

The handbag, as shown below, has an official name of Hermès Exceptional Collection Shiny Rouge H Porosus Crocodile 30cm Birkin Bag with Solid 18K White Gold & Diamond Hardware.
